Animal fights have been around for centuries. Throughout history, various cultures have engaged in animal fights as a form of entertainment, such as jousting between two animals for the admiration of the crowd. Although animal fights are now primarily a professional sport, there is still a historical context for the animal vs. animal fight.
For example, in some parts of Latin America, dogs and chickens have been known to fight in grounds specifically built for spectators. While these fights happen for different reasons, whether its bragging rights or money, traditionally, these fights usually have only one winner. While there is an intense rivalry between the two animals, they mostly abide by a code of civility that goes beyond physical strength or the superiority of one animal over another.
The fighters will usually face off in a manner that respects each other, showing their skills and respecting the other's tactics. Even though these fights can become quite physical, the aim of each fighter is never to cause major harm to their opponent - for example, injuring their eyes or wings, as that would render the fight unfair and unjust. Despite the intensity of animal vs. animal fight, the competitors respect each other and the sport itself, offering a unique and ever-changing spectacle of intelligence and true competitive spirit.
